JOIN A CLUB OR ORGANIZATION
Learning Spanish will open many opportunities for you academically, socially, and professionally. Join organizations that will allow you to practice and share what you are learning in the classroom.
SPANISH NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY
The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish. The purpose of the Society is to recognize high achievement in Spanish and to promote continuity of interest in Hispanic studies. The SHH was formally organized as the Spanish National Honor Society in 1953. The Society is classified as a national and international academic honor society in the study of high school Spanish and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, Inc. (AATSP)
Membership to the society is not for everyone and it is a very selective process. Students are nominated by a Spanish teacher and must meet high scholarship, leadership, and character qualities. The sponsor and an administrator determine who is ineligible for continued membership. Students are invited to apply for membership and once accepted they will take part in the initiation ceremony.

SPANISH CLUB
The Spanish Club’s goals are to introduce the students to Hispanic Culture through enrichment activities that they would not receive in their Spanish classes. We will explore the Spanish language, culture, and food through monthly meetings.
*The activities will be decided on by the club officers and advisors and approved through the school’s administration.
INTERNATIONAL CLUB
International Club at Jack Britt is a way to learn about other cultures, socialize, and volunteer at various events around Fayetteville. All are welcome to join. Our monthly meeting typically includes a country presentation from a club member and planning for upcoming events. We volunteer at local fundraisers, meet at local restaurants, and attend and volunteer at local international festivals.
